My journey into higher education began at the SLIIT Kandy center, which was the very first higher education institution I attended. Coming from a background that was not technical, the institution and its people made sure I feel comfortable, included and welcomed so that I could launch myself into the technical spectrum of the information technology domain. It is a facility that provides comfort, direction, and opens doors to new opportunities. My lecturers and the welcoming community they cultivate at SLIIT Kandy are the aspects of the institution that I appreciate the most. They have been an unwavering source of support for me throughout the entirety of my studies here. The foundational skills I picked up and the self-assurance I developed throughout my time at this institution were the primary factors that led to my academic achievements in the years that followed. The tremendous motivation and inspiration that led to all of my accomplishments originated from the intense interest that I had over my time spent here gaining knowledge. The campus had a very orderly and safe atmosphere, and it was equipped with all facilities that were necessary for us to accomplish all our goals without any difficulty.

Hi, I am Sachini Tennakoon.

Right after my A/Ls, I chose to do my higher studies at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and I can assure you that it’s one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I followed the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology specializing in Data Science.

Today I have graduated with a First Class and was able to secure 3 awards for Excellence: Best Performance Award under the specialization, Gold Medal for Overall Academic Excellence in the Faculty of Computing and Gold Medal for Outstanding SLIIT graduate. None of this would have been possible if not for the lecture panel at SLIIT and I’m incredibly thankful for them.
My journey at SLIIT started at SLIIT Kandy where I spent the first 2 years of my degree. I’m immensely grateful to the lecture panel at SLIIT Kandy for their constant support and guidance and being the foundation of my academic career. The knowledge you instilled in me were the roots of these accomplishments.

SLIIT Kandy Centre is excellent for both academics and extra-curricular activities. My time at the Kandy Centre was both rewarding and exciting. I had the chance to participate in many events as well as extra-curricular activities. Furthermore, it offers library facilities, advanced and well-equipped laboratories and lecture halls to support students by providing an ideal study environment. These facilities, along with the tremendous support of the lecture panel, assisted me to broaden my knowledge and grasp the basic concepts in the initial phase of my degree.

Kandy SLIIT has always held a special place in my life. That setting was well-structured, which encouraged me to focus more on my studies. It has instilled in me the necessary expertise to drive me toward success in academic life. Within the halls of the Kandy SLIIT, the cornerstone of my higher education life was laid.

Not only did I accomplish academic success throughout my two years at Kandy SLIIT, but I was also able to get SLIIT sports colors for Chess by balancing my studies and sports activities. We were encouraged to excel academically as well as volunteer for event planning and other extracurricular activities in that setting. The most valuable gift I received from the Kandy SLIIT was the tremendous assistance provided by the lecturers during and after the lectures. I will be eternally grateful to the academic staff at Kandy SLIIT for their guidance and assistance
